I'm feeling like I can hear a slight variation on Stevie's vocal, so that makes me suspect this is not merely a dressed-up version of the SYW track. But I could be wrong, so please feel free to educate me on this track.

This 'Thrown Down' should have been a hit. Foolish record-buying (or mp3-downloading) public.
The SYW version Thrown Down should have been a hit. I can't be the only one that strongly prefers the album version, or am I?

The alternate version is too busy and bland for my tastes. The harmonies on the album version stand out, and the overall faster pace of the song works quite well. It's my favorite track on the album.
