I know what you're thinkin', but really I think this is a tech. problem with the server. There's
plenty of things that can go wrong with that, for example the disks themselves can develop a mechanical problem from physically moving around all the time, the "driver" that makes it go can have a problem, the device that reads it can crash, or the computer program that makes it all work can develop a bug. It's a machine like any other, and machines need to be maintained and fixed sometimes. Considering the complexity of the system, I'm amazed it doesn't happen more often.
