I think it's a fallacy that steroids "make home run hitters"...if a guy doesn't have hand-eye coordination it doesn't matter WHAT he takes (even 1000 units of beta-carotene per day), he's not going to hit the ball.

And, whose to say that the pitcher the steroid-using batter is facing isn't using as well? It's a wash. No harm, no foul.

Let's just let 'em play ball and worry about more important things...like what-the-eff we're doing in Iraq; and why the eff we're there. And, why we haven't impeached the crooked SOBs in office.
i think the issue is more or less that these men are paid X amount of money to perform at their skill level naturally and not to abuse drugs. its no different than if you were working in a warehouse and taking roids. You'd get fired for that wouldnt you? The thing with these players is that along with the money comes fame, and being in the public eye. You would THINK they wouldnt use them, just because of the "role model" qualities inherent with being a ball player. Personally, I say let them take them and face the consequences if they get busted...but there is something a little f*cked up about that. But you're right CHili, there
are more pressing issues in the world.
