I thought they were flat broke too. So, I'm not sure whom to believe on that. Eddie or Stevie? I will say that when Stevie was in Europe a couple of years ago and said she moved out of the apartment with Lindsey and then had to swallow her pride and ask to come back, I was shocked. She had always maintained that she paid the rent on that apartment. So, she leaves and Lindsey keeps up the apartment and she is the one who ends up homeless? It tells me that Lindsey did have an income, independent of Stevie's waitressing and housecleaning. He and Richard couldn't have been just bouncing the rent check for months on end.

I read that about the Warron Zevon book also, and honestly, it's all a bit skewy. Recently a letter from Stevie's mom surfaced somewhere and in it she wrote to an aunt of Stevie's that Stevie was in New York City now and she hoped that she would be making some money of her own now because the Nicks' had continued to support their "spoiled" daughter. The letter was dated 1975 or 1976. So it's not like she had no place else to go but back to Lindsey.
If you ask me, them joining Fleetwood Mac had less to do with the lack of money and more to do with getting nowhere in the music business and Lindsey being out doing what he wanted to do while Stevie was at home doing, well, nothing. According to them, Stevie was the one that made the choice to join, Lindsey would just as rather have continued with Buckingham Nicks.
