Some might say the same about our Miss Nicks, especially more recent efforts.
We've discussed her "talk-singing/sing-talking" many times here.
As for Alanis - meh. She's OK. I was all over Jagged Little Pill when it came out. Listened to it again recently, and I was pretty bored tbqh. I think that has more to do with the fact that so many of the tunes were way overplayed rather than the music being bad though.
