The Takeovers "Bad Football." The Takeovers is a project by ex-GBVers Robert Pollard and Chris Slusarenko. The bassline on "Little Green Onion Man" alone makes it worth while, but it's chock full of Pollard quirkiness. Lots of great cameos, too, like Stephen Malkmus (PAVEMENT), Tad Doyle (TAD), John Moen (THE DECEMBERISTS) and Dan Peters (MUDHONEY).
Still, I have a hunch one of Mr. Pollard's upcoming solo releases on Oct. 9 (he has two to be released that day) will take the crown.
