Just to add to seteca's post about slide guitarists, if you own or can get the Tango in the Night VHS, I am pretty sure Rick Vito does this in a song or two. I haven't watched the video in a long time, but I think one of the songs he used that tube on is Gold Dust Woman, and I also think Stand Back. I can't determine myself whether I like this style or not. At some points it sounds very cool, and then sometimes it just sounds like it's grating my ears. I guess it depends on my mood...
