The songs, presumably, were specifically developed for inclusion on the LIVE album because they wanted to give fans something new, simple as that. I don't think they were ever considered to be slated for a studio album.

It's quite a twisted assumption that the lack of a new Lindsey song is evident of him being not in support of the album...citing the possibility of drama where there was likely none. Remember, he ponied up The Farmer's Daughter (not a song he wrote, albeit, but one he chose).

Why aren't there studio versions? What's the point? Fireflies was remixed and released as a single, as was The Farmer's Daughter. These were one-off songs (along with One More Night) especially created for the Live album project. Wouldn't it be slightly redundant if those songs then appeared in their next album, Mirage? (Bleed To Love Her, the exception).

And for what it's worth...those songs aren't truly live. There was a lot of studio work (vocals in particular) done on them after the fact. With that, consider them a hybrid - part live, part studio recorded.
