She's never hid the fact that the last two seasons were purely done because of contractual agreements she couldn't get out of. (She had to sign on for two extra seasons to get the same amount of money Mr. Duchovny was being paid). And she has always complained about the gruesome working hours and the fact that she was stuck in Vancouver for the first 5 years without anybody warning her beforehand. Other than that, she's never had a bad thing to say about the show and she was excited about a second movie. It's not like they are holding a gun to her head. If she doesn't want to do it, she won't. So that article definitely made a lot of people go 'huh?'.
