The daughter at the center of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin's nasty custody battle is desperate for the family fight to end, according to her uncle. Ireland Baldwin, 11, hit the headlines last week when an angry recorded telephone message left for her by her father was leaked to the media. The actor called his daughter a "rude, thoughtless little pig" when she chose to ignore a court-ordered weekly phone chat with her father. A week after the tape hit internet sites and news shows in America, the 30 Rock actor's brother William Baldwin claims his niece has been "embarrassed" by the drama, and wishes it was all over. The Backdraft star says, "I know that she wishes this would end." But the younger Baldwin insists Ireland has no ill feelings towards her dad, despite the controversy and the names he called her. He adds, "I know that she has a great relationship with her dad. I know that she loves her dad very much."

I personally think both parents are as bad as each other. Baldwin went too far in his rant in that voice message and Kim went too far leaking it. I'd be mortified if I was a 12 year old kid having to deal with everyone in the world hearing that. Both are damaging IMO

ITA. Kim is just as bad for leaking the tape in the first place. She publically embarrassed her daughter for her own gain. Sad and pathetic move. I fail to see how Ireland is safer as a result of her Mom's self serving move. However, I am not really familiar with the facts of the case, just generalities. Is Kim accusing Alec of being physically abusive? Is there any proof that he has physically mistreated his daughter or do we just have the Mom making these allegations?
