I have never heard Stevie say she hates the album cut of WTTRS - but she could have and I just do not remember. If anyone has a quote or interview, I'd love to see or read it
As for TITN - yes, it appears La Nicks sort of waltzed in and added much needed life to the songs. I think LB saw this and his jealousy of her took over, which is sad. I think this happened frequently to LB in the sense that he could work all day, week, or month on one part and La Nicks would show up and add some harmony she pulls out of her a$$ in ten seconds and it is a better product for it. I'd be jealous of that too, esp. if she dumped me to boot
I mean look at the Letterman version of Big Love -- La Nicks' vocals add a dimension to that already good song that is stunning.
As for Stevie's songs, WTTRS is a nice sentiment, but a deadful production. I love Seven Wonders and the vocal is one of her best. WISYA is stark and confessional, but the baby fest is too much for me to take at times.
In the end, I think the best song on the record is Little Lies and I think that because it is the three at their vocal and collaborative best. I will always maintain that the five are best when they are a group effort.
