I recently ditched the purse for a sling bag...or whatever they're called. One strap, it goes across the chest - and it's totally for guys but I don't care, they're functional.
Right now I have in mine:
Wallet
Sunglasses
lipstick
chap stick (that I never use - see Chapstick thread)
A small mirror
Tums
A pill box with ibuprofen
mp3 player
3 varieties of gum
1 reporter note pad - like a fancy one
A nice pen
small calendar
Hmm..I think that's it.
