interestingly enough, i was just discussing this with my sister (yes, i woke her up at 4.30 in the morning, her own damn fault) and we talked about how in the old days tv was all about the ust and then if or when they finally got together it was usually the end. ust is what keeps people tuning in. so, yes, the lack of friction is somewhat frustrating, and meredith is not really my fav character either (i hate how she seems to have only one expression on her face) but i still think they're cute together so i don't want to see that messed up. my sister told me stuff was going to happen though (she's a spoiler ho), so there'll be friction. and the thing about these last 3 eps was that it wasn't really about their relationship, it had more to do with her estranged and messed up relationship with her mother and how she needed to make peace with a few things. i thought it was interesting.

i like the character of addison a lot but i agree -- i can't see it being about much unless she plans on taking the character of mcsteamy with her and even that will get old after a while.
please...mcsteamy. now HE annoys the crap out of me. i agree though that there's still something to be done about that relationship, but somehow it interests me less. none of the relationships are really all that interesting (george's the least, ugh) and it irritates me that they all sleep with everyone but the good old days of building up a relationship and truly developing characters (even if it takes years) are gone. people are just not that patient anymore, the world is moving in a much faster pace.
