That isn't the impression I got at all from the interview I saw. And I thought she said specifically "Lindsey wanted to break up". I'd have to review, though.
But then of course during that other interview (behind the music?) she said "Lindsey didn't want this breakup, he didn't NOT want to be with me..." so,
It must be behind the music cause I remember it so well.

But I don't think he said that to her. But I have no better basis for my opinion than Strand does, so...
Except for pronoun consistency within the song, like I don't think Lindsey said to Stevie "It's only me, who wants to wrap around your dreams and..."
