Everything was put into perspective for me when I read some of those old concert reviews from the
late '70s and that interview with Richard Dashut from 1979/80, where he discussed critics' complaints that Stevie was "sleepwalking" through her performances and "seemed bored" with songs like "Dreams."
It's not at all a new complaint, and very likely a matter of taste and perception.
