Tolerance - actually the lack thereof is a big reason why I'm not a fan of the south or of many of the people from that area of the country. Not to say that ALL southerners are intolerant of different cultures/races/lifestyles (or that all people from the western part of the country
are tolerant), but there does seem to be a distinct difference.
Also, the southerners I've met are just entirely
too friendly. I'm a Californian; we're rude, self-centered, and keep to our own business. We don't like to chat it up with strangers.
