I think your judgement is better than whoever was making the decisions back then. It sounds like an good single choice to me also. But unfortunately, I always hear people who don't like it. I think opinion is split on that song. But to me, it is a great sequel duet. One thing I would definitely change about it is eliminate the synthesizers from it. Country music and synthesizers do not mix. And the beginning few seconds should have been scrapped and redone somehow.
