He was. I am unsure how anyone can see it any other way. I mean she was proud of her work and wanted to give it to him. The polite thing for him to have done is accept or refuse it. Instead, he ignored it, which was rude and purposefully hurtful.
Also, I do not remember La Nicks saying she gave her stuff to anyone she even remotely knew
She has had listening parties in different cities, but those often are the record company's thing and it is a common practice.
