This is for Janet...
Janet, I am sorry that all of this has evolved from your post. I haven't seen the Divas show (my mom taped it for me, but can't find/thinks she probably taped over the tape

) - BUT I totally understand the feelings that prompted your post. Those feelings are resurrected in me everytime I get out The Dance video for something like the hundredth time, and find myself all teary-eyed sitting there watching all of the FM members interacting and performing so wonderfully. I sit there and sniff and tell myself I'm such a silly hormone-ridden woman and that people would think I was nuts if they could see my reaction to the band. I mean, I don't KNOW these people, right? They are just a band, right? But I love their music, it moves me, and through the years of feeling so familiar with all of them...well, to see/hear them displaying their talent and emotion and comradery with such zest...I am filled with emotion (irrational though it may be) - pride, love, longing. And I find myself thinking how lucky I am to be able to experience this, and how great it would be if everyone else could, too. I want to open my front door and sob/shout to the world, "I LOVE FLEETWOOD MAC! RUN, don't walk, to your nearest music store and get yourself the gift of Mac music!"
In a way, it's like I feel about my kids...when they do things that make me all warm and fuzzy, or touch me to the point of making me cry, or just sit there being my beautiful children, I think to myself "what a shame that the rest of the world has to be denied the experience of my fabulous kids!"

But even so, how FORTUNATE and BLESSED I am that *I* get to experience them!
SO, Janet, I totally understand what prompted your post. That combination of love/heartache/pride/longing/happiness/blessedness that just makes you want to shout out to the world. But how great for you that you have a place where you can shout it out to people who understand and, for the most part, agree.
NEVER hold yourself in check, Jan. Keep shouting it out, girl.

PS: Hope this was all semi-coherent, as for the last 2/3 of it, I had a 7-year-old girl who should be in bed talking in my ear while I was composing..."Mommy, gee you sure like Stevie, don't you, with that big picture of her on your computer, and boy, is my nose stuffy and runny and I need some medicine, and boy, was my vacation with Grandma fun, and gee, Mommy, you sure are writing a lot, and Mommy, do you think we can go to the zoo soon, and you know, I think I have to pee, and can we snuggle on the couch together for a little bit before I go back to bed, and MOMmy, don't you think maybe you're writing too much..." Yeah, what a SHAME that the whole world isn't getting to experience the beauty of this particular child of mine right now...
And so back into lurkerdom I fade...and re-emerge into mommyhood...
