My mom introduced me to FM. I can still remember her playing the green greatest hits album in the car over and over. As much as I didn't want to like "mom's music," I was hooked. Christine was initially my favorite, I think, because her songs are so catchy.

I liked FM throughout middle and high school, but I never expected to hear anything new from them and I didn't have any of their albums except mom's greatest hits and her vinyls. I do remember being stoked watching them at Clinton's inauguration. Then, the Dance happened, and thus my interest in FM was reborn. I bought The Dance, and then their other studio albums, and then a bit later, Stevie's solo stuff. Eventually I picked up Lindsey and Christine's solo material and some pre-BN stuff.

As of now, Lindsey is the most interesting member to me, though it was Stevie for many years. Lyrically, he's at (or near) his zenith, IMO. Stevie's recent songwriting output is very hit and miss with me. Of course, I still love her. Stevie circa the 70s and early 80s will never cease to amaze me.
