We play L,R,C too. But it's either for drinks or for quarters, not $1. We're poor drunks.
I went to hubby's fam's. His stepdad usually cooks, but this year he was laid up in a chair with a foot problem (gout, we later found out.) So my sisters-in-law did the cooking. I got a few snarky comments for not helping, to which I replied that I didn't have ESP & if they needed help they should have called & asked me for it. Bitches.
