My family is currently fighting sort of because my Dad doesn't want to host the family party this year. He has a very high maintenance girlfriend who probably doesn't want him to do it. I think everyone has family drama - and actually since most of my family doesn't talk to one another the drama is now relatively low (mother and sister excluded
)
But last year - and I hope again this year - my sister, brother-in-law and nephew have spent a low-key and quiet (and turkey-free) Christmas together - focusing more on the reason for the day than on gifts...it worked well for us
