Actually, I think the D's will adopt the plan set forth in Newsweek, which was, in sum, drop over a year or so from 144,000 troops to 30,000 troops, make the sunni Triangle stable through Iraqi forces, and establish a Kursistan (note the Kurds are not fighting now) -- the article concedes that the initial process of the Iraqi takeover of responsibility to keep the peace will be horribly tumultuous, but they need to do it at some point and that time is now. |
