I just wrote a big long thing but it got erased.
The show was spectacular, you know?
The crowd was small after the show waiting for Linds, so we got signatures, and he chatted a bit, and it was cool. He kind of had a deer in the headlights look, so after I got my sig I just stepped back and watched, even though I wanted a picture. But he was really nice to everyone. Then he saw someone from his highschool or something and they chatted for a bit.
I know most of you have seen the show, so...
Personal Highlights:
When Lindsey came out onstage and laughed and said "Well, thank you for not going to the Rolling Stones show tonight!"

(yes, they were playing)
Red Rover - I adore the new percussion on this. They took out the more high end, strident aspects of the song, and now there are just nice deep oddly synchopated drums, and a much warmer, lower sound over all. Magnifique!
It Was You: I liked it much better then the album version. It sounded more tuneful live. And Linds injected more passion, it wasn't quite as clinical sounding.
World Turning: Again, love the new percussion. This song is always a favorite anyway, but it snap crackled and popped last night. Pow!
Trouble: The way he's doing this song is incredibly beautiful to me. Very soulful. Cried from the beauty.
Castaway Dreams: I love this song anyway, but seeing him sing it brings even more...emotional depth to the song. Cried, those lyrics really get me.
Show You How: This song is mesmerizing to watch/listen to. The syncopation of the vocal parts is lovely, and strange, and very even. Just a trip, a sonic trip to an alternate universe. heh. This is another that was warmer live, the vocal edges were softened and blended, in fact all edges were just a bit. But just the right amount. All the momentum and fire was still there.
SMAP was a bit slow and pretty for my tastes, but it isn't a favorite of mine, and it was still awesome anyway.
The whole show was incredible. Flawless.
After SMAP we hightailed it to the stage door. I finally made Christy, have a workout, we were the first ones there due to my maneuvering and near sprinting. I call it the "Running Slolem".
Anywho, Brett came out first to smoke and chat. I love Brett. He asked my name, we joked and chatted/flirted for a minute, then he chatted with others for awhile, there were only a handful of other people besides us around the stage door at that point. Then he stepped back over to us and asked Deborah and Christy what there names were, then he gets to me and looks up and is all "aaaaaannnnnd, we've met. What was your name again?"

I was all "nice save, Brett". Not that I expect him to remember people's names, I think it's really cute he still asks people their names, though. So then, he took my hand and kissed it, and we laughed. I also got a hug at some point, maybe when we were laughing and talking about how Lindsey directs all the girls to him because he's not married...I can't remember exactly when, though. But it was nice, I like him, he's funny and cool. But of course all you guys know that.
I didn't bring up how I had once touched his boob.

Still, Brett is my boyfriend. hahahahahaha.
Then we waited forever, then Lindsey came out. Then you know the rest. It was really fun, though, it seemed the whole night whoever I was talking to, we were laughing. There was a good size group of us there who knew each other from before, all funny and cool. I also got to see someone I hadn't seen in awhile, that was nice. And of course I met Christy, who is great and funny too. Just a really, really, laughie night. I was really excited, though, while we were waiting at the stage door, and couldn't stop talking. But, whatever, we were just standing there.

I really had a great time with everyone.
And, my god, there were
$5 Sierra Nevada Pale Ales on tap!
I've never seen a beer that cheap in any of the other venues I've been to.
Things that sucked:
1. No one was standing up dancing until the end songs. It was really hard for me to keep my seat, then for two whole songs me and Deborah and Christy were the only ones dancing. HaHA!
2. Security guard blocked us from the stage, even though we were in second row aisle.
3. I didn't get to leave with the band.
That's all that sucked!
Then me and Deb got lost for a few minutes in SF on the way to the Bay Bridge, then briefly again when we got back to Berkeley. It was fun and funny. I have the worst sense of direction on the planet, so I was of no help. In fact, a couple times I, how do you say, steered us exactly the opposite of where we should go?

I always have a fun time with Deborah - and thanks for the ride! She said I might have to take BART next time due to my almost total lack of directional congnisence and tendency to call out confusing street directions at the last minute.
Again, the show is flawless and wonderful, see it as much as you can!
