Meanwhile my roommate is sitting across the way just looking at her like, "Do you even know what you are saying?" It was bad. I hate that too.
Lame. She must feel really bad about herself.

I guess. But really, it's kind of a blessing in disguise. Ice Cream still isn't healthy, even though she doesn't gain weight from it. So, even though you may be "forced" to eat more healthfully to keep your weight down, at least you are eating healthfully. My dad is the same way, with ice cream, too - he is skinny. Still can have high cholesterol, or blood sugar issues, or whatnot.

We are a product of all of our experiences, including what we have seen and heard in the media. You can't help but internalize those images in ways you aren't even fully aware of. Media people should be more responsible but I don't think there should be regulations or anything. Oh hell no. Just have a conscience people, I mean "heroine chic"? That was just ass.
Yeah, that's why people should turn the damn TV off, and not let their kids watch it until they are older. It won't filter out all images, obviously, but it will filter out a hugenormous amount of them.
Also, the media to a large degree shows us what we want to see. Yes, heroine chic was ass. But talking about conscience, how people can, in good conscience, allow their young children to watch TV in great volumes - like most do - is beyond my comprehension.
