yes and no...
1. all these songs were tracks that he was already working on without the band... they would have gone on the album whether Christine was there or not...the only thing that Christine's absence did was allow more tracks for him...she really wouldn't have done much musically other than add a cool harmony or some great hammond.... I mean really how often did you see her piano or keys get in the way of any of his stuff...
Hold Me is a great example of them playing off each other... but she never got in his way....
musically...especially live... i don't think they are a better band without her...
i will however agree that a few of his songs on SYW were the experimental stuff i like to see and was happy to hear him doing them....
I believe he missed her in that studio for a few reasons... one being Stevie... haha
