It's poetic cuz Stevie is a poet, dont-ya-no-it.
It alludes to her have epiphianic moments. Can you see her in a long black velvet cloak with a top hat and feathers and that pink scarf with finger thingies wrapped around her neck... she points skyward and says in her best theatrical Charles Dickens character voice...
"And there... changed my LIFE!!!"
I love it... it's quite Victorian. However, I would never use it in my own everyday life. It just doesn't fit. But it fits her very well.
