I really don't think the emotion we saw during Silver Springs on The Dance DVD was all for show. Stevie has said that during rehearsals and the first night, it just wasn't quite "it" - I have to think they were all a bit nervous, it had been a long time & they had all gone through so much by this point. But that last night they recorded was magic & it all poured out - the joy, the pain (the sunshine, the rain...)
Now - repeating that moment at every show on the tour? Yeah, definitely playing it up. Of course, they knew that the fans SAW this moment on The Dance & would want to see it at their show, so they did it.
I still adore The Dance. Absolutely.
I will never tire of it. I will never stop getting goosebumps during GDW. I will never not smile when the marching band shows up for Don't Stop. I will never not tear up when I see Silver Springs and Landslide. I will never stop singing along with all of these songs, and I will never stop making the movements & the facial expressions along with them when I watch.
