I couldn't tell because the liquid was clear and the inside is solid black enamel (i.e., shiny). there was no steam or anything...I couldn't even smell it. so needless to say my hand hurt like hell. I went to tell the clerk that they had a liability...they needed a sign before someone "tries" to sue. people are sue-happy here. I went outside and took the wax off and my hand was really tender. now, I know the wax in those things only gets moderatly hot, not boiling, but my hand is still very sensitive today. but my skin looks fabulous.

so, the moral of this story is watch where you put your hands, you could give yourself a nice spa treatment.
