**Not that any of this is on the sacale with losing a loved one... I had a spate of bad birthdays that included parents fighting (leaving me alone with the cake) or later breakups, and bad news. I lowered my expectations for while for the birthday fun, and now it seems like the last few years of B-days have been pretty swell. Oh yeah, and one of my friends has her birthday on September 11.

Aww, sorry to hear about those bad birthdays. My worst one was 16, it snowed, my boyfriend refused to come over and did not buy me a present. What a loser.
