It is if you live in North America. If you live in the UK its not. You have VAT tax at 17.5%, Customs Duty and Import Tax. If you buy directly it's gonna cost you about $1200 more in taxes. If you go through a distributor such as Ian in the UK you will get the guitar at US prices.
Ian will import a Model 1C-LB for about £2600 which is pretty good. The only problem you get outside of America is its much harder to get any warranty work done. But you get that with any custom made instrument.
