Have you ever heard the expression, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink? I'm sure that the people around Stevie saw what was happening to her, expresssed their concerns and gave her advice. But ultimately it's up to the individual to actually DO something about it. And that process in itself usually consists of realizing and or admitting you do have a problem and then what you're willing to do about it. It's not a cut and dry situation at all. Only when you look back on it can you see the whole picture.
