Wow, Accutane used to be for more severe cases.
Actually, your derm is smart - listen to this.
I took accutane for 2.5 cycles of it. (you know, did the whole five month treatment almost three times). My skin would break out again, not that bad, but still - that's why they gave it to me again. The third time, I had switched Dermatologists, and my new one had a clue - my skin was breaking out because it was clogged with dry skin from when I took the accutane! So he had me do a few peels, and voila! Skin cleared up.
But - and this is the part that pisses me off - when my skin was breaking out from that, it made my pores way bigger. So, if my first derm hadn't been lame, and if I'd gotten the exfoliation right away, my skin would look way, way better today.
Glad your derm is smarter.
Accutane was new when i took it.
