I don't understand how you guys have time to watch all these movies. I'm jealous.
BTW - I don't really understand much of anything dealing with art, whether it be music, acting, painting, whatever. I don't know what's brilliant or what's garbage. I know what I like.

I know what entertains me.
Since I've seen very few of the nominated movies as of now
(whaaa, I never get to do anything, whaaa, nobody takes me out to the movies, whaaaa!) I'll only give my opinion on Crash.
I thought it was a
good movie, the performances were pretty
good. Nothing spectacular, not deserving of a "Best Pic" nod, IMO. I thought Dillon put in a great performance, but I'm biased since he'll always be Dally from The Outsiders for me.

And I love him.
About the whole racism thing - the people who "get" the movie most likely weren't racist to begin with. They will shake their heads, disgusted/ashamed/upset at the things that happen in this movie. The racist people who need "waking up" are not going to change because of this movie. They were chuckling at or agreeing with every stereotype/racist assumption in the movie. JMO, of course.
