I was a huge Olivia fan for 2 solid years before I got into Stevie.
Some similarities between Livvy and Stevie ….
Both were born in 1948 and on the same date of their respective months. Stevie, May 26th and Livvy, September 26th.
Livvy’s first US single, “If Not For You” was issued on Polydor records, and was a moderate hit. Two year later she hit it big with the hit single and album “Let Me Be There.” Stevie’s first album with Lindsey was on Polydor records, and two years later, they hit the big time with Fleetwood Mac.
They both had the biggest success of their careers with either a duo or group in the late 70’s, Stevie w/ Fleetwood Mac with “Rumours” and Livvy with John Travolta in Grease.
In 1981 they both had the biggest SOLO hit album and single of their careers. Stevie with “Bella Donna” and Livvy with “Physical.
The last time they had a hit in the top 40 was the mid to late 80’s. Livvy with “Soul Kiss” and Stevie with “Rooms On Fire.”
Both released best of albums in the early 90’s, Stevie with “Timespace” (1991) and Livvy with “Back To Basics” (1992).
Both enjoyed success again in the late 1990’s celebrating projects they did 20 years before. Stevie with “The Dance” in 1997 and having the lead single, “Silver Springs” taken from the Rumours era. And Livvy in 1998 with the re-release of “Grease” which debuted at #2 opening weekend.
