Whose awareness are they raising? If they were giving lectures at high schools or sponsoring community events, I might agree with you. But holding an open mic night at the student union so that the choir of self-righteous UConn students can preach tolerance to themselves and offer each other hugs and hot chocolate while congratulating each other for not attending Coulter's speech isn't really what I'd call getting the word out.
