He has made a jazz album independently, got new management and sounds amazing (I already knew that heh). Night and Day is my fave from the clips on the site. This is the type of music he really wants to do and his voice was made for it.
Please, no horrible, negative comments. Thank you.

I listened to three of the clips on the website, and I have to say, that is a really pleasant surprise. I had two assumptions going in:
1) Justin would indulge in the overwrought over-singing that plagues a lot of the folks on
American Idol, and plagues quite a few jazz singers as well.
2) Since you mentioned "smooth jazz" in another post, that this would be some awful synth-y David Sanborn-type crap.
But the music sounds very classy; it seems like a good tight quartet (and I love me some walking bass lines). And Justin's voice is for the most part beautifully restrained; he lets the melodies do the talking rather than trying to impress anybody with high-falutin' vocal tricks.
I doubt I'll run out and buy this, but I'm glad to see someone extricate himself from the soulless, corporate
American Idol grip and actually record the music that he loves. I hope he keeps it up.
