NY Senator Kruger to introduce Circle of Trust bill

New York state senator Carl Kruger (D-Brooklyn) will introduce a "Circle of Trust" bill to close that state's incest loophole. That news was announced nationally last night when PROTECT director Grier Weeks appeared on the O'Reilly Factor show to discuss PROTECT's campaign to reform the child abuse laws. Kruger's announcement follows by a day a bombshell column in the New York Times by attorney and author Andrew Vachss, discussing the legal outrage. “This long-overdue legislation marks a landmark step for proponents of child safety in this state," said Kruger, "and for everyone who believes ethically that criminals who violate their own children should receive an increased punishment, not a reduced one.” We'll have the full text of Kruger's press announcement, along with more news soon.
