Hmm, this is difficult. The basic difference between my board and the Ledge is the tone. It's pretty soft over there. We don't take things too seriously. We don't talk about pre-BN or post-BN Mac, although I appreciate them, but it IS a BN board. The General Discussion is rather non-controversial and nothing too heavy is discussed. Now me, I sometimes like it hard and I sometimes like it soft, so I post both there and at the Ledge. I'm not sure if it's a cross-section of humanity either... but then again neither is the Ledge... I'd say both the boards contain ships of fools that are largely homogeneous. To be perfectly frank, there is some immaturity on my board. If you can skip over that and still enjoy it, you're OK.

The truth is my board is not for everyone. I have no illusions about that. In fact I was a bit nervous some people might decide to bash my board here because it's been done freely in the past. I could say more about this but I think it's best to leave it alone, as it hasn't been done in quite a while.

AliceLover, the thing about the EZBoard is 1) I can't control it as much and I love me some control 2) Most people don't know about it 3) We had over 1000 members on the other forum and getting them all to switch over is a pain. However, I'm having such a hard time fixing the other one that maybe we will keep EZBoard for a longer time. Some folks think it's no sweat to update the phpBB html code but I'm slower than they are, I guess. I'm paranoid that I will accidentally delete those thousands of posts. Also, I haven't had time. I only turned in my dissertation prospectus Thursday and frankly my poor little brain is still recovering from the heinous stress of that. See, I changed my argument dramatically just two weeks before the deadline, meaning I had to scramble to find brand new theorists and critics. This was difficult because no one had dealt with my new idea that the Renaissance romance genre was not driven by desire (either sexual or material) as is commonly argued, but by fear of the loss of identity.... blahblahblah. Anyway, I won't bore you with the details. Let's just say it's been a rough time and BN.net and its forum has been the last thing on my mind.
