That's absurd. When you post/say something on a message board, the whole point is that people
will respond to it. This board is not a vacuum. If he wanted to talk about it "on his own" he would use PM's. or the phone. or IM. Or something other than this massively public board, where everyone talks to each other and has opinions on everything. Although, I will say that people pressured him to answer "questions" but really, he had already answered those questions, the person just didn't see it, and didn't want to wade through the massive thread.
It's nothing he hadn't said before.
And yes, of course we'll be our usual selves. Because we're individuals. And don't we deserve compassion, too? Don't we all deserve to just be able to be ourselves, without judgement?
