Just a little update from S. Florida. I just got my power back today at noon in Miami. They are working like crazy to get power restored, although it is hard since the storm broke most of the street lights and smashed transformers. Broward got hit the hardest and some of my friends have been told they may not have power for up to 4 weeks!! The lines for gas are crazy. I haven't had to sit in one yet, but I'm going to have to in the next two days. I'm a zoo keeper at a privately owned primate facility. All our animals are doing great. The park as a lot of large trees down, but less structural damage than during Katrina.
Alex (greatdarkwing) still doesn't have power yet, but he and his family are doing well. They have relocated to a nearby hotel and I'm sure as soon as he gets internet he will be back on The Ledge.
Just wanted to let you all know that we are hanging in down here. I feel fortunate that the worst for me was having to deal with a few days without power. Hope all the other S. Florida Ledgies are doing ok.
