Alot of books were written as politically masked messages b/c their writters couldn't have written the grown up book and not been arrested by the government (Neverending Story comes to mind).

The NeverEnding Story is AWESOME. I love that book. Especially the chapter with Grograman. What a great, great story. Someone should opt that for a movie remake, and really do it some justice.
