I cannot deny the power of the Charlize. She is an incandescent wonder. I love Franny but her performance was her typical - solid, but it was her. Sissy Spacek did fine work. Woody was almost tic free. He can't seem to shake that inbred cross eyed tic. It was just a little formulaic - script wise.
I'd wait for cable or do a bargain matinee. It is a B, I suppose.
Let's not even discuss my horror at having to pay 10 bucks to see a movie.
I haven't paid to see a movie in years.

How can you forget to mention the amazing acting force that is Richard Jenkins? I love him and thought he was fantastic in it.
Give him a Best Supporting Actor nod, Academy!!
I normally would never pay to actually see that kind of movie, but with that cast (Sissy, Frances,
and Charlize?), I couldn't help it. It was quite good, to my surprise, but that final courtroom scene had me rolling in the aisles and annoying the other audience members with gales of high-pitched laughter.
Yellow or RED?!
Sorry, but that was so unintentionally hilarious that I almost snorted the water I was drinking right out of my nose. I do think Charlize will go down as one of the greatest actresses of all time. She's so good that it's kind of scary, much like Jodie Foster and Susan Sarandon. And it was kind of nice for once to see Woody actually acting normal and not espousing the wonders of weed in British documentaries or making a total ass out of himself with his choice of roles (I'm talking to you,
Play It To the Bone).
When I got out of the theater, though, I had half a mind to pop in Fargo when I got home.
"Ah, hon, ya got Arby's all over me."
