Yes. It essentially uses a butane tank to pass the gas over this strip which gives the effect of carbon dioxide, which is what attracts them to us. I think the directions state it should be placed many yards away from your house. Mine really works great. Changing the tank sucks, but that is better than the bites. Also, at times, there may be like 1,000 dead insects in the trap, so it works.
