About 1 000 000 years ago the Earth had a massive Ice Age that caused much of North America and Europe to be under hundreds to thousands of feet of glacial ice. Eventually the glaciers receded.
Was that due to SUV's as well ?

ok.....look at your question again: you describe a global ICE AGE but you ask if it was due to SUV's? Earth is a living planet and experiences growing pains periodically, but overall, the earth has been gradually COOLING since its birth. The global warming we are experiencing now is due in part to concentration of greenhouse gasses that trap certain types of solar energy
which I believe has contributed to the warming of the oceans and the melting of the polar ice caps. Our consumption of fossil fuels in particular is problematic because the EXHAUST is toxic and the best filters are being cut down for profit all over the world. We are basically fouling our own nest (which they say even a dog wont do!) Not very smart......
