Government is not "BAD!" It is an absolute necessity of life in a large, diverse and civilized society. The extent to which it is necessary, and what areas of life it should be involved in, and how, is always up for debate. But the belief that government is a problem to be gotten rid of, aside from being anarchistic, is complete stupidity, and it's the insidiousness of this idea is what has led to despicable ineffectual shambles that the US government currently finds itself in.

Hold your horses. I never said that we don't need ANY government. Just the basics. But because I don't want a "nanny state" that is with me from cradle to grave and takes half of my income...means that I am a loon!?
Essentially the government should protect civil liberties and the free market through a police force, a military, and the courts. That is really the basics...of course there is more however.
