My fear is that this is just the beginning. If this happens to succeed there, I can see other states (including mine, which has already banned gays from adopting) lining up to do the same. It's just another example of the assault on women's reproductive rights (and of course, yet another assault on gay rights). We have those in government trying to allow pharmacists to refuse filling birth control prescriptions on the grounds of "moral conflict". We have the fight over Supreme Court justices, with the far-right trying to stack the court with judges who will overturn Roe v. Wade. And now, they're trying to legislate that lesbians cannot carry a baby. And, of course, as far as gay rights go.... bans of marraige, bans on domestic partner benefits for gays, bans on adoption, etc., etc.

Not only that, but if I'm reading the following correctly, they want evidence of the couples' involvement in religion?!

Quote:
A description of the family lifestyle of the intended parents is also required, including individual participation in faith-based or church activities.
So if I'm understanding this correctly, they're stepping all over separation of church and state as well!

I swear, I feel like this country is turning into "The Handmaid's Tale". Very scary, and disgusting, stuff!
