What more perfect way to draw attention away from all the GOP's current problems then to announce a neo-con nominee for the Dems to focus on?
Didn't he nominate Roberts during the height of the Rove scandal? Not that Roberts is a blatant neo-con, but the little bit of his background that was known points to the fact that he definitely is a conservative guy, and it kept the Dems busy trying to dig up stuff on him.
Besides, part of the Bush agenda is to not only shift the court to the right, but
way, way to the right. No ordinary moderate or conservative will suffice! I think the next one will be very ugly.
