It cut out here for just under an hour. It's kinda funny the degree to which we stop functioning normally when the lights go out for even a short period of time
. Two of my lectures were cancelled and all but sheer panic broke loose when people couldn't use their blowdryers or charge their iPods. I recieved 3 phone calls ranging from wanting to know whether there was a terrorist attack, to advising me to stay at home because there would be pile-ups everywhere due to the traffic lights being out. (Hi, it's L.A. People drive like there are no traffic lights even when they're working fine.) It was "breaking news!!1" on every station once power was restored. My goodness... sit outside and read a book, people!
