Look at all the hurricanes we get every year! None in recent memory has had this death toll. I am just saying that if I could turn on tv and see that a catagory 5 hurricane was coming wouldn't you just attempt to get things going? Jesus Christ, if it snows up north, and there is a watch, they are out there days before salting the streets and not a snowflake will fall, but just in case. There are people being paid for emergency management...but I guess they just didn't care. No one takes these storms seriously...that's all.

I know many would have stayed..but God-these people aren't primates for goodness sakes, they are people and if they are told it's a matter of life and death...then I think they'd go. It would have been hard work but isn't human life worth it?? ALL I THINK IS SOMETHING MORE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. That's all. I think that's being realistic.
what keeps ringing in my head is that these people are DYING of starvation and no water...this is like 2 hours from me and I can't believe there is no way we could have gotten food and water to them sooner...I just don't buy it. even people on the coast need food and water. there's a LOT we probably don't know about what went on behind the scenes but what I see makes me sick
